Matt is known for his energy and enthusiasm. He has a passion for identifying how Noetic can add value to the work of clients, assisting them to improve performance, meet tight deadlines and drive new initiatives. He is a strong communicator and enjoys the varied client interaction consulting with Noetic offers.
Matt is the General Manager of National Security and a Principal Consultant. As one of Noetic’s lead, Matt engages widely with clients across all sectors. As a Principal Consultant, he provides project oversight to support key consulting projects, ensuring client expectations are met and alternative approaches are considered, and plays a key role in Noetic’s quality processes. Matt’s deepest subject matter expertise resides in the national security and defence, government and emergency management sectors. More recently, Matt has developed a passion for assisting not-for-profit organisations to further their aims by applying his consulting experience and knowledge of government, particularly in the area of disability services.
Matt brings considerable experience to Noetic’s clients having held senior executive service appointments in the Australian Federal Police and a career in the Australian Army, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. He has extensive experience working collaboratively in multi-agency prevention and response planning and operations, and has worked with partner organisations in the Asia-Pacific, Europe and the United States. He has been involved in strategic reviews relating to national security and designed and implemented major change initiatives.
Matt is passionate about delivering outcomes for clients. He is a strong communicator and at his best interacting with people. “I think it is very important we take the time to properly understand our clients’ issues and work as a team to provide the best solution.”
Qualifications: Master of Defence Studies, Bachelor of Arts, Graduate Diploma of Business Administration. Executive residential programs at: Australian Graduate School of Management, Australian Institute of Police Management, Chinese Executive Leadership Academy (Pudong)
