He gained over 15 years of experience in the Australian Public Service where he held key executive level strategic policy, service delivery and regulatory roles in large departments and agencies. Among his key areas of focus were establishing and maintaining effective governance arrangements, implementing performance management frameworks and effectively managing risk.
