About the roles

Noetic is looking for expressions of interest from Doctrine Editors (ED) and Production Support Assistants (PSA) to work in the Army Knowledge Centre, Tobruk Barrack, Puckapunyal VIC. These positions will be part of the Doctrine Publication Authoring support team who are responsible for ensuring Army achieve their Doctrinal requirements.

The PSAs roles provide desktop publishing support to produce Army’s Doctrine publication and the EDs capability undertakes an iterative review process to ensure all publications meet the publishing standards of the Commonwealth and the Army.

Skills and Experience Required

To succeed in the Doctrine Editors role, you must have:

  • A formal qualification relevant to the publishing or editing profession or experience in areas such as editing or teaching English
  • A solid grasp of the English language and advanced comprehension abilities
  • Highly developed oral and written skills
  • Possess a flexible and collaborative approach to work
  • Highly competent in Microsoft Office programs, Adobe Acrobat Professional, and file management

To succeed in the Production Support Assistants role, you must have:

  • Previous editing or administration experience is desirable
  • Demonstrated word processing skills and ability to become familiar with the use of Doctrine style sheets
  • Competent with Microsoft Office Word (styles and templates), Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Creative Cloud (specifically Illustrator and Photoshop) and Content Management Systems
  • Ability to work with detailed layouts and styling of large publications
  • Ability to create PDF and HTML outputs for print and the web
  • Technical knowledge of desktop publishing
  • Possess a flexible and collaborative approach to work
